How can the Catholic Church seek unity with other Christian communities by compromising the Word of God and disregarding the divine commandments? Authentic Christian unity can never be built upon the denial of revealed truth or moral absolutes. Ideologies that contradict natural law and divine revelation—such as the normalization of homosexual acts, abortion, contraception, IVF, euthanasia, and attacks against the sacramental nature of the priesthood and the Sacrament of Confession—cannot serve as foundations for true communion.

Vatikan Papst fordert Kardinäle zur Zusammenarbeit auf Papst Leo XIV. hat die Kardinäle ermahnt zusammenzuarbeiten, der Einheit der Kirche zu dienen und nicht spezielle Projekte und Agenden zu verfolgen. Er hatte zu einem außerordentlichen Konsistorium alle 245 Kardinäle der Weltkirche eingeladen. Anwesend waren laut Vatikan-Angaben 170 von ihnen. Das „außerordentliche Konsistorium“, zu dem er sie nach Rom eingeladen hat, sei ein „Moment der Gnade“, in dem die „Einheit im Dienst der Kirche zum Ausdruck kommt“, erklärte er Dienstagfrüh in einer Predigt vor dem Kardinalskollegium im Petersdom. Kardinäle und Papst seien versammelt, „um gemeinsam herauszufinden, was der Herr zum Wohl seines Volkes von uns verlangt“. Sinn des Konsistoriums sei es „unsere Projekte und unsere Eingebungen einer Prüfung zu unterziehen, die (…) nur vom Herrn kommen kann“. Der neue Potsdamer Garnisonkirchturm ist durch Farbschmierereien beschädigt worden. Die Polizei sei darüber am Neujahrstag informiert worden, teilte die Polizei am Freitag mit. Vor Ort sei auf der Rückseite des Bauwerks ein zwei Meter langer Schriftzug in roter Sprühfarbe festgestellt worden. Ein politisch motivierter Hintergrund könne nicht ausgeschlossen werden. Auf der Vorderseite des 2024 eröffneten Turms seien schwarze drei Meter lange Streifen und ein weiterer kleiner blauer Schriftzug festgestellt worden. Sicherheitsmitarbeiter hätten zudem mitgeteilt, dass sie auf der außenliegenden Plattform abgebranntes Feuerwerk und Glasflaschen gefunden hätten, hieß es weiter. Es werde davon ausgegangen, dass sich bislang unbekannte Personen vermutlich über die Feuertreppe illegal Zugang verschafft und auf der Plattform Feuerwerkskörper abgefeuert haben. One of the priests, Father Chris Pever, underwent surgery after suffering an arm fracture. The attack took place in Mararaba, a town in Nasarawa State.
