Podobne ako v mnohých kostoloch bol aj jeho interiér v polovici 20. storočia znetvorený, čo zahŕňalo stratu pôvodnej fresky v apside a inštaláciu monumentálneho kríža s pozadím v štýle imitácie vitráže. Ateliér Conrad Schmitt Studios obnovil interiér pomocou šablónovania, pozlátenia, stĺpov s imitáciou mramoru a novej nástenné maľby v apside znázorňujúcej Nanebovstúpenie. Projekt tiež vrátil hlavnému oltáru jeho pôvodnú dôležitosť.
