Nephew of Monsignor Carlo Maria Viganò Becomes Archbishop
On 12th January Francis appointed as Secretary of the [useless] Dicastery for Culture and Education Monsignor Carlo Maria Polvani, 59, who until now was Undersecretary of the same office.
Monsignor Polvani will be promoted to the rank of Bishop, with the personal title of Archbishop.
He is the son of the sister of Monsignor Carlo Maria Viganò.
FaroDiRoma.it (12 January) recalls that in 2012 Monsignor Polvani got into trouble in the Vatileaks trial.
According to FaroDiRoma.it, Vatileaks was triggered by Monsignor Viganò's letter of protest against his transfer to the United States. Benedict XVI made Viganò nuncio in Washington in order to remove him as secretary general of the Governatorato, because in this function Viganò had dug up too much dirt.
