Sorry Archbishop Viganò: But you can't have your cake and eat it too or change horses in the middle of the race. You can't believe and declare before the whole Church and the entire world that Francis was never, EVER Pope, but now Leo is. You can't stridently condemn the Papal Conclave that produced Leo and the Cardinal-Electors created by Francis who chose him, proclaiming that any man elected therein could not possibly be a legitimately, validly, canonically elected Supreme Pontiff; but now maintain that, in fact, Leo is. Such an 180 degree turn will stain irreparably your integrity and make you into just another raging hypocritical liar, unworthy of any trust or confidence by the Faithful. You cannot backtrack now out of the corner you painted yourself into prior to the Conclave. Remain steadfast in what you claim to believe. If you actually, genuinely, wholeheartedly believe that Francis was not ever Pope, then you MUST believe and hold to the conviction that neither is it possible for Leo to be Pope. And thus, you cannot ever recognize nor acknowledge him as such, nor submit to his obedience, nor can you accept any of his acts, proclamations, appointments or legislation as legitimate .....IF, in fact, that was your honest, truly held belief about Francis. "We shall see" said the blind man..."we shall see."

Archbishop Viganò: Hatred of Latin is innate in the hearts of all enemies of Rome - LifeSite

(LifeSiteNews) — Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò published a letter in which he condemns attacks on Catholic Tradition and asks Pope Leo XIV to restore it to the Church and protect it.
In his letter, written for the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul on June 29, Viganò praised the specifically Roman heritage of the Catholic Church that he said was consecrated by the martyrdom of the two great saints in the Eternal City, and claimed it for all Catholics:
… the glories of ancient Rome, its culture, its law, its arts, its territorial and administrative organization, its ability to unite and pacify peoples in the practice of virtues – even if not yet enlightened and vivified by Grace – were destined to find their fulfillment in adherence to the Catholic Faith, prepared by Providence also in the Martyrdom of these pillars of the Church, which in the Creed we profess as
The archbishop added that hatred of the Church’s Roman heritage is a hallmark of the Church’s enemies, including Martin Luther …

@SonoftheChurch
Seems to me if you are going to call out the Archbishop with your own headline and article, you should not hide behind a stage name.(alias).

Viganò was going in the right direction but has relented some with the advent of the Prevost (anti)pontificate, analogous perhaps to the way Archbishop Lefebvre temporarily softened his position after the transition from Montini to Wojtyła. That said, Viganò's position is less defensible since he has forthrightly declared Bergoglio an antipope and is now seemingly recognizing as pope a man who was selected by Francis' cardinals and has effectively canonized his predecessor.

We can pray that the new pope will have a change of heart. It happened to Saul the Pharisee on the Road to Damascus.

@SonoftheChurch I am not sure that the Archbishop needs you to tell him what to say or do.

SonoftheChurch

@frawley Nonetheless, I AM sure that I don’t need you to tell me that I can’t.

frawley

@SonoftheChurch I did not say that you cannot. I said that he may not need you to direct his words or actions. Please read and respond thoughtfully to my posts, not emotionally. With all of my respect, God Bless brother.

Sitting through the Mass not prayed in Latin is torture for me so I literally have to pray it beforehand in Latin if I am going to subject myself to that sort of scenario. Inures somewhat against the scattering effect, as does covering the head if female..

@Maria delos Angeles Catholics born before 1952 followed the Mass in Latin. We held a missal in our hands that had one side written in Latin and the other side written in English. The priest prayed the Mass in Latin and we followed. Even 7 year old children could follow with no stress. Yes, we learned to respond in Latin but it wasn’t a requirement. I hope this helps you. God bless.

@salliperson I believe you may have misunderstood Maria. She said sitting through the Mass which is NOT prayed in Latin is torture....meaning, she greatly prefers and desires the TLM only. She didn't say she couldn't follow the Mass in Latin or needed the English translation. Her point is sitting through the Mass prayed in the vernacular is torture for her, not Mass prayed in Latin. At least that is what it appears she is getting at to me. Be blessed!

Thanks, @SonoftheChurch for answering, you are right, I couldnt answer @salliperson anyway because for some reason unbeknownst to me I have been blocked by her since a long time.. No idea why.

@SonoftheChurch I think you are right. Leo is no more a valid pope than Francis was.

SonoftheChurch

If you believe what the Archbishop said he believes about Francis, then there can be no other conclusion. That is, IF one believes and stands with what His Excellency stated publicly and relentlessly about the invalidity of Francis' Pontificate. I do not.

petrus100452

@SonoftheChurch To me it is obvious that Francis was not a valid pope. No heretic can be a valid pope. Consequently I believe that Leo is a valid pope neither (he confirms all the heresies of Francis, from Amoris Leatitia to Fiducia supplicans and the whole anti-catholic "synodal church".

SonoftheChurch

@petrus100452 Apparently, however, the good Archbishop disagrees with you regarding the validity of Pope Leo’s Pontificate. Although I don’t know how he can do so, while at the same time, declaring Francis was NEVER the Roman Pontiff.
