Avoiding stupid answers

Examine the question:
"Why" is the word we use to express the chain of cause and effect.
If there is nothing, that nothing cannot cause something.
Every relationship and law we know is a relation of something to something.
Even our reason itself is circumscribed by the something in which we exist.
The question is stupid so the answer has to be stupid.
