The church Saint-Nicaise de Rouen in Rouen, France, will become a brasserie-restaurant with an additional museum space. The site dates back to the 7th century, when a chapel was built for the relics of Saint Nicaise. The current building was reconstructed in reinforced concrete after a fire in 1934 and reopened for worship in 1940. Due to structural deterioration, water infiltration, and lack of maintenance, the church was closed in 2006 and officially deconsecrated in 2017. The new project includes a restaurant, on-site beer production, and preservation of some architectural elements. The church’s large organ, completed in 1957 and one of the most important in Rouen, has been removed and will be relocated to another church in Paris for restoration. Local authorities cited high restoration costs as the main reason for the conversion. #newsRxmfreixrh
Several anonymous cardinals and curial officials told the Substack.com account The Pillar on April 17 that they do not expect any resolution to the question of the Mass in the Roman rite in the near future. Some Catholics had hoped the next extraordinary consistory of cardinals on June 26–27 would address the liturgical issue. Instead, Leo XIV chose to focus on Francis' document Evangelii Gaudium. One Vatican official said that Leo XIV was not very familiar with traditional communities or even the traditional liturgy, and that his primary concern was not liturgy but whether members of those communities accept the Second Vatican Council. As early as June 2025, the best friend of Leo XIV, Alejandro Moral, Prior General of the Augustinians, had already ruled out any return of the older form of the Mass under his pontificate. #newsVdgrmnvwkv
Paul VI killed the Old Mass; JP II gave it a tiny life; Benedict opened it up greatly, saying it had never really been officially done away with; Francis tried to kill it; Leo seems happy with Francis's decision. Zigzag, zigzag, what is the layman to think? "Officer, the light was green when I went through it." "Well, it's red now and you are in trouble." Why should the laity respect the governance of the Church?

This apostasy, foretold by Scripture, was also announced by the Virgin at La Salette, who clearly stated that Rome would lose the faith and become the seat of the Antichrist; that many priests would completely lose the faith and cause the loss of countless souls; and that many churches would be closed and desecrated. Furthermore, she warned that these desecrated churches would be used to worship demons.
John 6: I am the Bread of Life, Understanding the Eucharist, Catholic Bible Study, Fr. Tim Peters Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 6,35-40. Jesus said to the crowds, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst. But I told you that although you have seen (me), you do not believe. Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me. And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day."
Christ Crucified Has Prevailed: In coordination with the Christians of Debel, the Israeli army has replaced the crucifix that had been beheaded in southern Lebanon. This action was (only) taken after images of the incident spread online, sparking widespread outrage.
The Israeli army has stated that it has replaced the crucifix that one of its soldiers defaced in Lebanon. The IDF has expressed deep regret over the incident and is working to ensure that it does not happen again.
The IDF was caught red-handed and so they went into spin control. If a picture hadn't been taken of the incident, they would have simply denied it. Since the picture is real, they say." So sorry, won't happen again". It's all optics to them.
Leaving the video and a new video from Iran. New security footage released by the Iranian Red Crescent on Sunday provides a harrowing account of an airstrike hitting a civilian hospital in Tehran amid the ongoing 2026 conflict. The precision blast, which Tehran officials attribute to joint U.S. and Israeli forces, sent shockwaves through a neonatal unit and intensive care wards, forcing medical staff to evacuate newborn infants from incubators manually as power systems failed. The Iranian Red Crescent has labeled the incident a "catastrophic blow" to civilian infrastructure and a violation of medical neutrality. While military sources maintain that strikes have targeted adjacent IRGC naval assets, the footage documents systemic damage to the Valiasr Hospital and the Shahid Rajaei medical complex, leaving thousands without immediate access to critical care. Amid growing controversy over the future of the Valley of the Fallen, Spain’s Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, has defended Cardinal José Cobo of Madrid. Bolaños told LaSexta.com that the plan to secularise the religious site was not the cardinal's initiative, but the result of an agreement reached directly with the Vatican. He emphasised that no personal deal had been made with Cobo, who has faced significant pressure from Catholics over the issue. The minister also said that the Vatican is fully committed to transforming the Valley from a monastery into a site of "democratic memory". Addressing divisions within the Catholic Church, Bolaños described it as a 'plural organisation', while criticising more traditional sectors that oppose the transformation and suggesting that they are out of step with 'contemporary society'. He also placed the “re-signification” of the Valley within a broader set of negotiations between the Spanish government and the Church, covering issues …Has köp

The Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land strongly condemned the desecration of an image of the crucified Jesus in a Lebanese village, calling it a grave offense against the Christian faith and noting similar incidents in the region. They called for immediate disciplinary action, accountability, and firm assurances that such acts will not be repeated, while renewing their appeal to end the war.
Cardinal Reinhard Marx of Munich, Germany, has instructed priests and pastoral staff to perform "blessings" for homosexual couples and adulterers. A spokesperson confirmed to Die-Tagespost.de on 21 April that all pastoral practice should adhere to the German bishops' guideline, Segen gibt der Liebe Kraft ('Blessing Gives Love Strength'). This guideline is set to become a fundamental element of pastoral work across the Archdiocese of Munich. Training sessions for pastoral staff on how to conduct these "blessing ceremonies" are scheduled to begin in June. No couple seeking a blessing should be turned away. Priests who reject such "blessings" are expected to refer couples to either their dean or other pastoral workers willing to perform them. Furthermore, Cardinal Marx has urged that the "theological meaning" of the guideline be explained, particularly to those who may "still" struggle with the concept of such "blessings". Blessings for same-sex couples are already common practice in …Has köp
A UK Christian Pastor will face TRIAL this week for preaching a gospel message based on John 3.16 near a general hospital. He is accused of attempting to “influence” people accessing abortion. He never even mentioned this topic. This trial is important. Can Christians really be removed from public spaces not because of what they say or do - but because of what they might think??
On Sunday, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski of Łódź, Poland, met with the faithful of the Roman rite at the Chapel of All Saints in Łódź outside of the liturgy. Cardinal Krajewski said he was happy that Catholics could attend Mass in the Roman rite at three locations within the Archdiocese of Łódź. He added that ten priests have been assigned to this pastoral ministry of the Latin Mass under Rev. Paweł Markowski's responsibility. Cardinal Krajewski served as Papal Almoner from 2013 to 2026. On 12 March 2026, Pope Leo XIV appointed him Archbishop of Łódź. The cardinal was renowned for his activism on behalf of transvestite prostitutes, having organised several lunches for the 'poor' with Pope Francis to which he invited dozens of transvestites. #newsZfmceyuwqp
On 19 April, the Israeli army confirmed that a soldier had beheaded a crucifix in Debel, southern Lebanon. In response, the Christian town wrote: “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do”. The army claimed that it views the incident with “great severity”, that the act is inconsistent with its values, and that an investigation is underway. The army also promised that measures would be taken against those responsible.

Young people have the right to "more traditional" forms of liturgical "experience", said Bishop Joel Portela Amado, 71, of Petrópolis, at a press conference of the Brazil Bishops in Aparecida, according to AciDigital.com. A journalist asked about a possible “return” of the Mass in the Roman rite and spoke about “young people who kneel to receive Communion” and “wear veils”. Bishop Amado replied it is important to consider broader trends, citing 2022 census data showing the highest number of people without religion is among those aged 19 to 39. “It’s not that they don’t believe in God. They are ‘unchurched’ - they believe in God, but lack a concrete path within the Church,” he said. Bishop Amado suggested this can lead young people to seek religious reference points, sometimes in past forms they did not grow up with. For him, such “diversity” is legitimate: “Do they have the right to be like this? Yes, because Catholicism is plural by nature, especially in a deeply plural world,…Has köp

Bishop Joel suggested this can lead young people to seek religious reference points, sometimes in past forms they did not grow up with." No, actually, it's because they finally find the transcendent, the supernatural, the Divine, "the true, the good and the beautiful" in the Traditional Latin Mass, vs. the pure, horizontal humanism of the Novus Ordo. Grace operating in young, idealistic, fresh souls who want something more than what this world offers.
Communards? During World War II, Italian partisans (especially those of a communist and socialist orientation) adopted the song "Bella Ciao" as an anthem of resistance to fascism and Nazism. The song became a symbol of the fight for freedom, equality and justice, and the lyrics were adapted to reflect the fight against the fascist regime. After the war, "Bella Ciao" became an international symbol of left-wing, labor and anti-fascist movements. It was sung at protests, union meetings and political events all over the world, from Latin America to Europe. Her message of resistance to injustice and solidarity with the vulnerable makes her a permanent political symbol.
