08:37John Corapi: Special Announcement. June 17, 2011
Fr. John Corapi's much anticipated announcement, proclaiming the introduction of "The Black SheepDog."
Rather than pussyfooting around Canon 1253, I'll stick to Canon 1251 - thank you very much!
08:37John Corapi: Special Announcement. June 17, 2011
Fr. John Corapi's much anticipated announcement, proclaiming the introduction of "The Black SheepDog."
Can. 1251 "Abstinence from meat, or from some other food as determined by the Episcopal Conference, is to be observed on all Fridays, unless a solemnity should fall on a Friday. Abstinence and fasting are to be observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday."
I'm no canon lawyer but to me Canon 1251 is crystal clear.
However, Can. 1253 states "The conference of bishops can determine more precisely the observance of fast and abstinence as well as substitute other forms of penance, especially works of charity and exercises of piety, in whole or in part, for abstinence and fast."
To me Canon 1253 is muddier. cannoli.

The subcommittee is led by Bishop Salvatore Cordileone of Oakland. He was a leading force behind the 2008 passage of Proposition 8, the California ballot initiative that recognized marriage as the union of a man and a woman.
Father Wurm Continues His Polemics
USA
Benedictine Father Robert Wurm who challenged Detroit Archbishop Allen Vigneron by celebrating Mass at the liberal American Catholic Council meeting in Detroit continued his attacks against the Catholic hierarchy in a conversation with the Detroit Free Press. Wurm called for radical changes in the Church, saying that different teachings would attract a more enthusiastic following. The Free Press story suggests that the opposite might be true, citing the example of a lay Catholic who was driven out of his parish by Father Wurm’s …
ACL - Indeed, some "higher authorities" are problematic. The Church might as well scrapped the N.O. Mass for Christ's sake (no pun intended).

ACL - Then they should be reported to a higher authority. Do nothing and the whole 'dog's breakfast' saga never ends.

@ACL Maaaaate! Why wait when people can attend / demand the Old Mass, which (after much consideration) is uncompromising. As you've mentioned it "Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi".
Vienna Western Mass 2011 Is Cancelled
(gloria.tv) This afternoon Cardinal Christoph Schönborn of Vienna cancelled the Vienna Western Mass scheduled for June 26th.
Michael Prüller, a spokesman for the archdiocese confirmed this to Gloria.tv.
Before the decision was taken, Cardinal Schönborn held a meeting with his council.
The council decided unanimously that it is appropriate to replace the Mass with a prayer service.
Deo gratias! I'm glad the Cardinal came to his senses but this ain't the end of this Novus Ordo nonsense.

"A recent study about the priest sex abuse crisis has raised many more questions than it has answered. It may be a report that many leaders in the church wish had never been conducted in the first place." (RealCatholicTV.com)
WOW that's some retarded reasoning. I wonder where the authors of that study graduated from. Even someone with half a brain could tell that reasoning is flawed.
03:13Why Switzerland Has THe Lowest Crime Rate In THe World.
Switzerland has the lowest crime rate in the world because the majorty of homes have at least one gun and train to use it. Swiss man gives his story for owning guns.
"The Seventh United Nations Survey on Crime Trends and the Operations of Criminal Justice Systems (1998 - 2000)" www.unodc.org/…/7sc.pdf
The US has a 2.97% per 100000 inhabitants when it comes to homicides with a firearm in 1999. Switzerland has 1.01% in 1999 and 0.53% in 2000. Singapore, which has zero tolerance, has none in 1999 and 0.2% in 2000.
So Switzerland has the lowest in the world? Who are they trying to fool?
Go figure!

It is rather amateurish/simplistic to suggest that because most Swiss have guns therefore they have the lowest crime rate in the world. Correlation does not equate to causation. Furthermore, this correlation could also be illusory correlation, meaning there might be a statistical significance but it doesn't mean any thing at all. What would explain gun violence in the US and Canada?

Provincial Sister Replaced
United States
Sister Margaret Timothy Sato has been replaced as the US-provincial of the Daughters of St. Paul in the United States – the Boston Globe has reported. Last year, Sr Sato filed a highly unusual lawsuit against Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley over pension issues. Before she was replaced, the order’s superior general, Sister M. Antonieta Bruscato, flew to Boston from Rome and met with the Cardinal. In that meeting, O’Malley and Sister Bruscato expressed dismay that the US province of the Daughters had sued the Cardinal rather than resolving their differences in a more amicable way. The local sisters …
@ACLumsden - Too right! I'm still getting the hard copies of the Breviarium Romanum once Baronius Press releases them.

Delegat of the Dutch Salesians Removed
Netherlands
Ultraliberal 73 years old Father Herman Spronck, the delegate of the Salesian delegation in the Netherlands, was removed from his position following the publication of comments in which he stated that “pedophile sex could be accepted.” Father Jos Claes [Klaas], the provincial of the Salesians in Belgium and the Netherlands said: “We fully distance ourselves from the words we find in the interview with Herman Spronck.” Father Spronck made his comments after a Dutch news agency discovered that another Dutch Salesian priest had served on the board of an organization that seeks to legalize pedophilia.

Beautiful footage explaining the traditions of our Church
SSPX recognizes the successions of Popes. SHF is silence on the Papacy (red flag!!!). Instead it is encouraging people to attend their Masses to find out. I agree with the validity argument. It doesn't mean it is licit. For anyone or any group not the recognize the Papacy is setting themselves up as sede vacantists, would you not agree?

OK, as long as it is clear to people that they are not in communion, I know what you mean.
