The IV National Meeting of the homosexual network ‘Red Católica Arcoíris de México’ was held from July 30 to August 2 in the Comarca Lagunera region, northern Mexico.

The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X. (FSSPX) “sincerely regrets that, due to exceptional circumstances, these consecrations had to be conferred without the authorization of the Holy Father”, the general house said in a communiqué after the episcopal consecrations today in Ecône, Switzerland.
“It particularly regrets that the Society’s Superior General did not have the opportunity to meet personally with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV to explain, in a spirit of filial devotion, the grave reasons that made this ceremony necessary.”

Why the Latin Mass Society does not support the SSPX consecrations
At the Latin Mass Society’s recent Annual General Meeting, I felt obliged to address the question, frequently put to us on social media, of why we do not support the Society of St Pius X and the episcopal consecrations they plan for July 1.
I explained that the work of the LMS depends on two conditions: first, not being absorbed by the official ecclesial establishment, and second, not being outside the Church. This is a delicate situation for us to maintain, and it is not for me to judge anyone who has chosen a different path. Nevertheless, it is the LMS’s historic position – and it has borne fruit. What follows is a lightly edited extract from my address to the AGM.

Even JP2’s Veritatis Splendor tackles the modernist heresies of moral theology called “consequentialism” and “proportionalism.” These two errors “claim to draw the criteria of the rightness of a given way of acting solely from a calculation of foreseeable consequences deriving from a given choice.” He continues that proportionalism “weighs the various values and goods being sought, focuses rather on the proportion acknowledged between the good and bad effects of that choice, with a view to the ‘greater good’ or ‘lesser evil’ actually possible in a particular situation.”—Veritatis Splendor #75.
In fact, Veritatis Splendor quotes Christ telling the rich young man that to be saved, he first must keep the commandments. So what do keeping the commandments have to do with the recent heresies of moral theology called “consequentialism” …
