Scores of Catholic parishes across Long Island will be required to pay thousands of dollars — in some cases millions — as part of a $323 million clergy sex abuse settlement that may be finalized within days, church officials said.
The parishes also will briefly declare bankruptcy at the end of the proceedings, which have gone on for more than four years, officials said. The Diocese of Rockville Centre said the bankruptcies will not affect the operations of the 134 Catholic parishes in Nassau and Suffolk counties or force any to close. The diocese declared bankruptcy in October 2020.

The laity can demand accountability, instead of being blindly obedient/lazy. The priest's superiors should be told what the priest is doing wrong.

The parishioners who willingly turned a blind eye or a deaf ear to the rapes going on in their midst are just as guilty as the rapists. Lets call it what it is.
Time is well past to stop supporting inherently corrupt Bishops, Cardinals, and Dioceses with donations. Find the True Mass in a Parish that does not encourage this behavior.
12 Claims Every Catholic Should Be Able to Answer
Some of them are made over and over, others are rare. Either way, while the proponents of these errors are free to promote them, we as Catholics have a duty to respond.
1. “There’s no such thing as absolute truth. What’s true for you may not be true for me.”
People use this argument a lot when they disagree with a statement and have no other way to support their idea. After all, if nothing is true for everyone, then they can believe whatever they want and there’s nothing you can say to make them change their minds.
But look at that statement again: “There’s no such thing as absolute truth.” Isn’t that, in itself, a statement that’s being made absolutely? In other words, it applies some rule or standard to everyone across the board — exactly what the relativists say is impossible. They have undone their own argument simply by stating their case.
The other problem with this statement is that no relativist actually believes it. If someone …catholiceducation.org

The "Universe 25" experiment is one of the most terrifying experiments in the history of science, which, through the behavior of a colony of mice, is an attempt by scientists to explain human societies. The idea of "Universe 25" Came from the American scientist John Calhoun, who created an "ideal world" in which hundreds of mice would live and reproduce. More specifically, Calhoun built the so-called "Paradise of Mice", a specially designed space where rodents had Abundance of food and water, as well as a large living space. In the beginning, he placed four pairs of mice that in a short time began to reproduce, resulting in their population growing rapidly. However, after 315 days their reproduction began to decrease significantly. When the number of rodents reached 600, a hierarchy was formed between them and then the so-called "wretches" appeared …

Francis in Corsica: A Million Euros Needed?
According to an estimate, the single day that Francis will spend in Corsica, France, in the diocese of Ajaccio, will cost between 500,000 and 1.2 million euros, according to the diocese of Ajaccio.
The Catholic Church in France is very poor and receives no money from the state.
Francis' visit will take place on 15 December. He will arrive at around 9am, give the closing speech at the useless conference on 'Popular Religiousness in the Mediterranean' and preside at a Eucharist.
He will leave at around 6pm after a brief meeting with Emmanuel Macron, the head of the French regime.
The diocese of Ajaccio (277,000 Catholics, 56 diocesan priests) is launching an appeal for donations to finance Francis's escapade.
The estimated cost is based on what the diocese of Marseille will spend when Francis visits in September 2023. While the Vatican and the French government will cover part of the cost of organising the trip, the bulk will fall on the shoulders …
He could have sent a letter to be read at the conference for much less. But the man could not care less about budgets, or his flock either.

CCHD Spent $11.4 Million More Than Budget
The national anti-poverty program run by U.S. bishops has released its annual report from 2023, revealing that it spent $11.4 million more than it collected.
The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) Annual Report 2023 revealed that the program ended the year with a net operating deficit of $2,830,364 after spending more than the combined total of its $8,451,156 savings and the $7,284,574 in revenue it collected this year.
The CCHD is a nationwide anti-poverty program run by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) that raises money every year and allocates funding to charitable organizations that benefit the poor.complicitclergy.com

Here’s Why The ‘Zero Tolerance’ Policy Is Going Nowhere
When I saw this lede on a Reuters news story this week, my sense of
A former top Vatican official who dealt with clergy sexual abuse issues joined victims on Monday in urging Pope Francis to enact a zero-tolerance law throughout the global Catholic church so any cleric found guilty of abuse would be removed from ministry.
Really?! Are we really still talking about “zero tolerance” for abuse at this late date? Maybe the Reuters report misrepresented the talk by Father Hans Zollner, who heads a program at the Gregorian University on curbing abuse. Maybe the term “zero tolerance” has simply become a shorthand expression, intended to cover all sorts of efforts to protect children.
”Zero tolerance” was the policy the US bishop endorsed during their Dallas meeting in 2002. “Zero tolerance” is the approach that Pope Francis demanded when speaking to reporters in 2014 and again in 2022 Portuguese television interview.
Why is it still …complicitclergy.com
C. 2359 § 2 of the 1917 Code of Canon Law states:
“'If [clerics] engage in a delict against the sixth precept of the Decalogue with a minor below the age of sixteen, or engage in adultery, debauchery, bestiality, sodomy, pandering, [or] incest with blood-relatives or affines in the first degree, they are suspended, declared infamous, and are deprived of any office, benefice, dignity, responsibility, if they have such, whatsoever, and in more serious cases, they are to be deposed.'
By immediately depriving such perverts of their faculties and their office and publicly identifying them for their crimes, the Church provided a clear and rigorous defense of vulnerable members of the Church and maintained the purity of the priesthood. However, just five years later, the law was secretly changed so as to conceal these same criminal offenses."
Anyone guilty such a crime should not be protected by anyone either in the church or by the courts.
Demand better of your Bishops, withholding all donations until they do, and local courts.
Recall any judge that will not find guilty any and all perverts.
'Amazon' Eucharist 'Approved' for Mexico
The retired bishop of San Cristóbal de Las Casas, México, Felipe Arizmendi, 84, announced on 13 November on Exaudi.org that the Dicastery for the Novus Ordo Liturgy had "finally" approved some "liturgical adaptations" for the Eucharist in the Tseltal, Tsotsil, Ch'ol, Tojolabal and Zoque ethnic groups of his former diocese.
Arizmendi is responsible for the doctrine of the faith at the Mexican Bishops' Conference (CEM) and appears also to be a Cardinal. San Cristóbal de Las Casas has 1.6 million Catholics and 135 priests.
The prelate writes that "ritual dances" have been approved at the offertory, in the prayer of the faithful or in the thanksgiving after communion: "They are not folklore, but simple movements of the whole assembly, monotonous, contemplative, accompanied by traditional music," he points out.
In the Novus Ordo Eucharist, women, one, two or three of them, carry out a "ministry of incense-bearers" "instead of the priest", who only …
