Leo XIV’s Vienna Archbishop Advocates for "Changes" - Including Adultery, Irregular Unions
Archbishop Josef Grünwidl of Vienna, Austria, wants a church that is "open to changes, including changes to church commandments and laws." According to KathPress.at, he said this on March 11 in the homily at the plenary assembly of the bishops’ conference.
Pope Leo XIV appointed Monsignor Grünwidl, a well-known activist of the liberal wing for decades, in October 2025 as Archbishop of Vienna.
Archbishop Grünwidl added that laws and prohibitions must not become an end in themselves. He thought of "the divorced and remarried, as well as partnerships that do not correspond to the ideal of Catholic marriage law".
These people are subject to the rules and prohibitions of canon law, but, according to Mons. Grünwidl, the task is "to discuss with the individual his or her life and faith situation, and to find a pastoral solution that helps and heals."

A man who refuses to accept the magisterial teachings is not Catholic and his appointment is illicit.
He wants to change 'church' commandments and laws. One wonders whether he ever went to the seminary, where, hopefully, they are teaching that these are not church laws and commandments, but God's laws and commandments.
I believe that because this evil bishop is a public heretic, he no longer has any jurisdiction.
