I went into and read the "prediction" from Barnhardt. Though Francis and his people may want to destroy the Church with Benedict XVI gone, I believe the tidal wave of opposition will be so great, that it is they who will be destroyed, not the work and legacy of Pope Benedict XVI.
With Benedict XVI gone, the traditionalist Catholics will grow stronger, not weaker, because they will want to perpetuate the great work of this holy Pope, including the Roman Rite Mass.
I predict, as many have stated this morning here and on other sites, that the progressives and radicals should not gloat and cheer if Pope Benedict XVI dies, because their hero Bergoglio is dying himself, several illness which will greatly weaken him. He probably has only a year left to live, if that long. Many cardinals are already rising up against him and his agenda.
I also would not be surprised, that with Pope Benedict XVI gone, Francis will have his opportunity to resign himself....which I bet he does, surprising the Church and the world. And I also bet that the next Pope is VERY much like Pope Benedict XVI, and even more traditional...........NOT a Francis II type.

I forgot to mention I went into Barnhardt site and read her "prediction". I think she's nuts.

Some good Cardinals think that they are limited in their reaction potential because Pope Benedict publicly claims that Francis B. is the Supreme Pontiff. So if Benedict had already left this world a few years ago, then Francis would have faced strong and explicit opposition.
About Ann Barnhardt, in her opinion Benedict XVI is the great restrainer, but this heavenly restrainer was already active during the first century A.D. so that's definitely not papa Ratzinger!

@John Fritz Logan -This is amazing, because I have a feeling about the same thing. At nearly 96, Benedict XVI probably is dying. God Bless him. In almost 8 years, he did tremendous good for the Church, imaging how much more if he had stayed in office till now. He made a few mistakes during his term. Biggest is that he resigned. But above that, his biggest errors were that he trusted his Secretary of State, Bertone, a Salesian and a real serpent, two-faced evil man. Another is that he made some bad appointmens (Bras de Aviz as Prefect for Religious), and afew others. Lastly, after he issued "Summorum Pontificum", he should have gone further with other documents strengthening that initiative. And one last error he made, he should have stayed on until Bergoglio was 80. Then there never would have been a heretic on the Chair of Peter. I would not be surprised if Pope Benedict dies in the next few days or weeks. But I also believe that Francis will die before the end of 2023, and the next Pope will be exactly like or even more leaning to Catholic tradition and the Mass than Benedict XVI was......not another Francis clone. The liberals will be in despair. One of the firstthings the new Pope does I believe, is supress the German "Synodal Way" and cancel Francis' own "Synod on Synodality".

Even though Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI had many mistake,not perfect...but he tried protect to our Orthodox Teaching...I deeply respect it....after Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI Retired...Bergoglio got to Pope's seat...now we waching to his horrible actions...Pope Benedict totally,totally,totally better than Bergoglio!!! this time..Orthdox teachings are destroying..wrong theory spread to all the world..so terrible..after 9 years..almost 10 years...we got to much horrible situation....we huge miss you..Holy Father!!! I think if Benedict gone to Heaven...it's normal...he is 95 years old...long time...and he still alive...he will see another, worst situation...I think he want going to Lord's House...Kingdom of Heaven....I really hope Lord will choose to real his Vicar,orthodox Pope..real Pope..fast time..I always pray to the Lord...please send to Orthodox Pope fast time...I can't wait to this crazy Old man's papacy....if this crazy old man's time much longer....orthodox teachings are much destroying....new years soon....Happy New Year!! Even Bergoglio I don't think would be so evil as to use a story like this to his advantage, or to lie about it.

Oh really? How many times we were assured by "inside sources" that Francis himself was going to resign/retire soon or even was at death's door? I will have to follow "doubting Thomas" - I'll believe when I see it.

@Orthocat --Unfortunatly, it was confirmed by the Vatican Press Office. And I don't think they would lie for Bergoglio. Also, he visited Benedict XVI right after his Wednesday General Audience, so it must be true. Benedict XVI possibly will have died by New Year's. His passing will leave the door open for Francis to resign, which I bet he does. And we will have a surprise new Pope who is 100% the opposite of Bergoglio....much to the despair of the radicals, and Francis himself (who will die right after that). His retirement from office won't be 10 years like Benedict XVI.....he'll pass on after maybe 10 weeks.

God Bless Pope Benedict XVI, if it is indeed his time, may Holy Mary Mother of God, St. Joseph, St. Benedict and St. Michael strengthen him in his final moments as the devil’s attacks will be fierce.

@Kenjiro M Yoshimori, whatever makes you think the Vatican Press Office is not operating in full concert with Jorge himself??? Bergoglio takes 2 steps forward....Vatican Press Office takes 1 step back!!! Pope Benedict may be dying...we don't know yet. But everything Jorge says has a purpose....whether true or not....in precisely what is said..... and in the timing of what is said!!!
