OCSTA must admit their failure in order to effectively move on

The Ontario Catholic School Trustees' Association's, OCSTA, board of directors have sent out another directive on June 4 to all board chairs and trustees in the province. It's about the provincial governemnt passing Bill 101, Putting Student Achievement First Act. The legislation is intended to overhaul school board governance, financial oversight, students grading practices and mandatory attendance. OCSTA, has tried to turn the legislation as a veiled attack on Catholic schools and education. In an earlier memo, OCSTA asked trustees to take action to promote and support Catholic education. What OCSTA is really doing is trying to raise awareness with MPP's and parents to say the legislated changes will hurt Catholic education. Bill 101 will "cause immediate and long-term serious implications." What the "serious implications" are is not spelled out.
