Cardinal Burke Seems to Recommend Voting for Trump
The United States faces an election day in which both major political parties advocate an agenda that is in flagrant contradiction with the most fundamental principles of the moral law, writes Cardinal Raymond Burke on X.com (October 22). Cardinal Burke offers some guidance on how to vote:
- Pray and fast for the nation, that it may serve the good of all its citizens.
- Be clear and steadfast in the opposition to the anti-life, anti-family, and anti-religious agenda.
- See if a candidate, even if he or she supports morally objectionable programs and policies, will, in some way, limit the evil.
- Is there any hope that a candidate in question will, at least, hear the voice of a well-formed conscience on issues such as abortion, sexual reassignment, and religious persecution.
- The present situation of national politics is morally disgusting.

Trump is the only candidate for whom we can say YES in response to these questions. Comrade Kamala will censor & even shut down all free speech, continue to have traditional Catholic parishes under surveillance as national threats, continue to jail pro-life advocates - even those who are elderly, force physicians to do transgender surgery, and continue to mock - and maybe after she's elected even jail Christians who claim that "Jesus is Lord!" Those who "sit this election out" are voting for Comrade Kamala. If you cannot support Trump, please support those of us who are American Catholics and are trying to live our Faith - openly - in the public eye - without being arrested. @DrMaria I disagree. I do not think Trump is listening to the voice of a well formed Catholic conscience. He is an actor and he is playing up to the Catholic vote, just as George Bush did. There is absolutely no concrete evidence based on Trumps performance that he will do any of the things you imagine. As a matter of fact he has promised to support Israel over American and Catholic interests and promote anti-Semitism legislation which will completely censor authentic Catholic teaching. This in turn always leads to a pogrom directed against Christians. I have posted the evidence for this plan of action and I do not think you have examined it carefully enough. Both Trump and Harris are unspeakably evil. Neither holds true to anything that could even remotely be considered as “Christian” morals, values or ethics of any kind. Neither holds any authentic or genuine regard or respect for the Church, other than as a supplier of naive sheep, who willingly run swiftly to their own slaughter, as they are pimped and prostituted for their vote. DefendTruth, I agree with you. The only real choice is to vote for Trump. Not to vote will just help Harris get elected. Of course he’s flawed. Aren’t we all? Over the decades we have rendered more and more unto Caesar. We are all responsible for that. Otherwise we would be running ourselves. Presently, there is little left of what belongs to God. It pretty much ends at private prayer and worship. Elect Harris and there won’t be any room for Christians left in the public square. In Britain, even silent prayer and the wrong Tweet on X have become a crime. In Canada, you cannot be a candidate for the Trudeau Liberals unless you support the culture of death.
If Harris is the president, I expect religious persecution. That's why I simply cannot understand any conservative who is voting for Harris. Fine, don't vote for Trump, but voting for Harris is voting to bring federal prosecutors down on Catholic schools, nuns, homeschoolers.
