In Poland the youth" Movement of pure hearts" is very popular,with young people vowing to remain chaste till sacramental church marriage. Young people spend vacations participating in long retreats,under spiritual direction of priests and nuns,go on pilgrimages,get much needed rest ,close to God and nature,listen to Catholic Christian values building sermons and lectures,are able to discuss problems and ideas with a spiritual guidance and counsel of a priest in a group setting.Pope John Paul II constantly organized meetings like that for the young,impressionable minds to have refuge from the secular,communists indoctrination( and he might have use a canoe himself as an altar,not to place the sacred species on the wobbly ground.I am TLM cradle Catholic and I remember very well my desire to attend the Sunday's Mass at Zakopane ,we were high up in Tatra mountains ,spending summer month at the Polish Scouts camp,our young instructor obviously missed not being able to participate in Sunday's Mass too,for she took us during the week to that little log Church under the pretence of " voluntary community work" - you could feel the Real Presence as soon as you entered it.That empty church naturally taught me the prayer of the heart and we scrubbed the pews,kneelers and floors clean,for nobody wanted to leave,we skipped going shopping to Zakopane,just to stay longer at that empty church,I was 12 years old and sensing tendency to mold us into commie style pioneers( USSR style scouts),I dropped out of the girl scouts.
