I doubt that the rate of death for soccer players is a valid point to extrapolate deaths worldwide, especially in such a short time. Myocarditis and pericarditis are certainly life shortening conditions, which are more likely to be aggravated by the intense aerobic activity of the sport of soccer, rather than mitigated by a soccer player’s superior physical condition. It will still shorten lives, and probably by a lot, but I’d be very surprised if anything close to this prediction comes true. At least, I hope it doesn’t.
