Pope Francis showing the Stations of the Cross to the public said with enfasis and hatred; “This is the history of God’s FAILURE” (God did not achieve His goal). He pointed Station after station till He was buried.
A) 1 Corinthians 1;18 “The message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God”.
1) 2 Peter 2:1–3; “Just as there were false prophets in the past history of our people, so you too will have your false teachers, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies and even deny the Lord who bought them. They will bring judgment on themselves quickly, and many will follow their shameful behavior, and because of them, the Way of Truth will be brought into disrepute on their account.”
2) Acts 20:29-30; “I know that after I leave, vicious wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock; and that from among you men will arise who will speak perverse things to draw the disciples away after them.
3) Judas 1:4; Certain people have crept in among you, and they are precisely those about whom you were warned in writing long ago, when they were condemned for denying all religion, turning the grace of our God into immorality, and rejecting our one Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
4) Mathew 7: 15-16; "Beware of false prophets who come to you disguised as sheep but underneath are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you shall know them".
5) 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; Please do not be hasty or alarmed by any prediction, rumor, or letter claiming to come from us that suggests the Day of the Lord has already arrived. Do not let anyone deceive you in this way. This cannot happen until the Great Rebellion has taken place and the man of lawlessness, the Lost One, has appeared.
6) 2 Timothy 4:3-4; "The time is sure to come when, far from being content with sound doctrine, people will be avid for the latest novelty and collect themselves a whole series of teachers according to their own tastes; and then, instead of listening to the truth, they will turn to fables."
7) Mathew 24:24; "For false christs and false prophets will arise, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones."
8) Matthew 23:13–15; “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites!, who shut up the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces! You yourselves do not enter, and you prevent those who are entering from doing so.” “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites!, who travel over land and sea to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as fit for hell as you are!”
9) Isaiah 5:20-21 ; "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”.
10) Luke 17:1; “It is impossible that scandals should not come, but woe to him through whom they come!”
11) 2 Timothy 3, 12; "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived".
B) THE GOOD SHERPHERD WHO LAYS DOWN HIS LIFE FOR THE SHEEP
1) Isaiah 53:3; “He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our sins. The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and through His wounds we are healed”.
2) Isaiah 53: 6-8: Yahweh burdened Him with the sins of all of us. Harshly dealt with, He bore it humbly, He never opened his mouth, a lamb led to the slaughter, like sheep silent before its shearers never opening its mouth. He was torn away from the land of the living; for our transgressions He was wounded.
3) 1 Peter 2:22-24; He who committed no sin, and in whose mouth no deceit was found; who, when reviled, did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly; He bore on the cross, our sins, so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.
C) THE VICTORY OF THE CROSS
1) John 20:19–23; On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors of the room where the disciples were gathered were locked for fear of the Jews. Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” After saying this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven; if you withhold forgiveness from anyone, it is withheld.”
2) Mathew 28:18-20; Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, make disciples of all the nations; baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,a and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you. “And behold, I am with you always, till the end of the world.”
3) Mark 16:15–19; He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned. These are the signs that will accompany those who believe: in My Name they will drive out demons, speak in new tongues, pick up snakes with their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” With that, the Lord Jesus, after speaking to them, was taken up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God.
4) 1 Corinthians 1;22-24; While the Jews demand signs and the Greeks seek wisdom, we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles; but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the Power and Wisdom of God.
5) Romans 14:8–9; Whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. This is why Christ died and rose again: to be Lord of both the dead and the living.
6) Galatians 1:6-9; I am astonished at the promptness with which you have turned away from the one who called you and have decided to follow a different version of the Gospel. not that there is another; but there are some who are troublemakers among you want to change the Gospel of Christ; and let me warn you that if anyone preaches a version of the Gospel different from the one we have already preached to you, whether it be ourselves or an angel from heaven, he is to be condemned.
