Pope Leo XIV has appointed Rev. Alberto Valentín Castillo García, until now Vicar General of the Diocese of La Guaira, as the new Bishop of Los Teques, Venezuela.
Biographical Background
Monsignor Alberto Castillo was born on 29 September 1969 in La Guaira and ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of La Guaira on 15 August 1995.
His leadership roles in the Diocese of La Guaira included Vicar for Pastoral Affairs (2012–2024), Diocesan Administrator during the vacancy (2024–March 2025), and then Vicar General beginning in March 2025.
There is no public record of Monsignor Castillo having taken political positions for or against the Venezuelan government, the opposition, or the United States.

One of the most significant aspects of his ministry has been his central role in shaping and implementing the Diocesan Pastoral Plan, Preaching the Gospel Together (2023–2032).

Catholics needs to wake up, all of his appointments smells, and it is not good. There's an indication of how things are moving towards to and it’s not towards God.
