Vatican Museum: Climate Extremists Attack Famous Statue

Three climate extremists of the leftist Ultima Generazione glued their hands to the famous Laocoon statue in the Vatican Museum on August 18 affixing the slogan “No gas, no coal” to the statue’s base.
Vatican gendarmes removed the three and took them to an Italian police station. It is unclear if the Vatican prosecutors will take up the case. Francis who loves cheap stunts, must have liked the performance.
The statue was sculpted in Rhodes in 40-30 B.C. Laocoon warned his fellow Trojans in vain against accepting a wooden horse left by the Greeks during the Trojan War. The extremists compare themselves to the unheard Laocoon.

What happens if they need a bathroom break and no one comes to rescue the the statute from their "protest"?

pmfji

Leave them there. And don’t forget to turn off the lights when you lock up.

Malki Tzedek

How pathetic.

What a horrible statue! No wonder Rome is going to be destroyed!

I think it's a very apt statue to have in the Vatican and Francis and his acolytes should heed what happened when Laocoon's warnings were ignored. In our day Laocoon would perhaps have tried warning against accepting the Trojan Horse of VII and all its subsequent apostasy.
With the snakes/sea serpents as well as the various versions of the story, one could have a field day with such analogies! Was Laocoon being attacked by the serpents for giving a warning about the dangers they presented? Treachery. Catholics should certainly have feared anyone bearing gifts of 'freedom' etc from faithless Priests, but Laocoon would also represent Lefebvre and other faithful Priests, attacked by Satan and his slithering demons and accolytes.

@Cassandra Laments Yes but they would have kept their clothes on! You can look at that statue and see an incredible story of types! I simply see the impurity!

Leave them there to enjoy being glued to a statue. They deserve it.

Turn out the lights and go home. In the new day, close off the section until the spectacle ends. It would probably be the best thing to do. Let the night guard open the door for them when they eventually free themselves.

It takes a few days but super glue wears off human skin. Just leave them there with museum guards enjoying wonderful Roman meals in front of them while these idiots go hungry.
