54:44

I need some clarification on the email at the 30:10 mark. It seems like Mother is suggesting that this person can just show up and receive the Eucharist and then leave.

I understood her to mean that the questioner attend only the Liturgy of the Eucharist, not the entire Mass.

Yes and that's the confusion

Hey Craig. This is more of an educated guess, but from my understanding if there is legitimate reason (Special circumstances) a person can receive the eucharist without attending the entire Mass. Traditionally speaking, a person can, however, only receive once in 24 hours.
For the NO, I believe Cannon Law was changed sometime in the 1980's where a person can receive twice, as long as they attend and participate in a full Mass the second time and not just receive It, for instance, if one is sitting in a hospital room with a family member and and the family member receives and you are asked if you would like to receive as well.

That's my understanding. I understand that Mother is suggesting she attend the entire Mass, but if she can't (do to the music and her beliefs) then she could just receive the Eucharist. My concern is that this leads to people choosing not to attend because of personal choice or beliefs.

Ave Crux

@Craig Sidelinger I once explained to a very prominent Traditionalist Priest that because of my circumstances, I am not able to attend the Traditional Mass during the week and can only manage it on Sundays and Holy Days; and so I am constrained to go locally to the Novus Ordo for daily Mass if I want to receive Holy Communion...which of course I do. Fortunately, we live in an area of exceptionally reverent Novus Ordo Masses, and very devout younger Priests, who seem far more conservative than many older Priests.
This Traditionalist Priest said to me: "It's alright if you must go to the Novus Ordo Mass in such circumstances. Our Lord Jesus goes, and I'm sure He doesn't like it very much either...!"
It was a very astute way of explaining it, and I have never forgotten that, and -- in fact -- it is very much because Our Lord Jesus is there (assuming the Priests are trustworthy and devout) that I cannot stay away from Daily Mass. It's where I gain all my strength....from Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
I think if that is one's only option, it is better to go and to suffer, and perhaps pray in an alcove making reparation rather than actively participating in the Mass [if it's not offered with due reverence], especially on days of Obligation, such as Sundays and Holy Days.

I understand your situation, however it appears that she doesn't want to attend a Novus Ordo Mass at all. Even if she attended the first Friday Mass at the TLM parish it still wouldn't fulfill her weekly obligation.

Ave Crux

Yes, I gathered that from the video, and that's why I shared this Traditionalist Priest's reply about why it's alright to attend. God has not abandoned His Church, and He will not allow the Modernists to thwart His closeness to the Faithful who thirst for His Presence -- even if we must seek it in painfully banal Masses.
Our Lord said he would not leave us orphans, and He is faithful, still imparting His grace through the Sacraments. Indeed, I have found the younger Priests to be much more devout, spiritual and reverent.

Does not answer my question.

Thank you, Mother, for your excellent example of holiness and what the authentic life of a true female Religious actually looks like.
