Rabbi Offers Retirement Blessing to US Bishop

Bishop Mark Brennan of Wheeling-Charleston, USA was honored during a Shabbat service on June 6 at Temple Shalom in Wheeling.

Rabbi Joshua Lief described him as a "dear friend" and offered him a blessing.

The event, promoted by the diocese, comes weeks before the installation of Bishop Brennan's successor.

Pope Leo XIV accepted the resignation of Mons Brennan on May 1. The next bishop of Wheeling-Charleston, Monsignor Evelio Menjívar-Ayala, currently an auxiliary bishop of Washington, D.C., will be installed on July 2.

It is fitting only in an indifferent, interfaith faith that a successor of the Apostles receives religious blessings from leaders of a faith that denies Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

Just convert to their religion, which you seem to love so much.

JPII was "blessed" by the whole pack of rabbis. Go to the dentist and check:

The Book of Hebrews states that the greater blesses the lesser. John Paul II was also blessed by a rabbi, alas.
