Andrea Cionci: Let’s pause on blaming the Council and investigate...

It has been several months that, starting from a careful historical analysis of Monsignor Viganò – which I largely share – the criticism of the Second Vatican Council continues to be brought up as if it were the real Magna quaestio and the solution to the current impasse. I think this is a big blunder and as I will show, it leads to absolutely nothing but a claustrophobic dead end.
In the progression of modernism, someone wanted to see in Benedict XVI the step immediately preceding Francis: a bit ‘like comparing a bicycle to a freight train, in my opinion.
Moreover, Ratzinger himself, who, like everyone else, underwent the cultural moment and the influences of the Council period, publicly emended himself from those “sins of youth”. It is often contested that when he was pope he did not excommunicate modernist …

Cionci seems to be a modernist like his unfortunate guru - Joseph Ratzinger. Therefore, he wants to draw you aside from the real roots of the crisis his idol played a rather nasty role in.

V.R.S. modernists in the Church are those who legitimize "pope Bergoglio" and destruction of Mother Church. Therefore neither pope Benedict XVI who prevented a canonical election with st Gallen mafia 's candidate nor Cionci don't qualify to be the real modernists. :)

Modernists in the Church are those who are legimitizing actions of popes Montini (like his sacramental revolution and the change of doctrinal paradigm), Wojtyla and Ratzinger (as worthy continuators of the desolation), being silly enough to think that the removal of pope Bergoglio changes anything. No, it won't because papa Bergoglio is a late fruit and heir of the Revolution, not its root, source or spiritus movendi. So you will have after Francis John XXIV or John Paul III or another abomination unless Rome that 60 years ago decided to de-romanize itself come back (and de-catholicize itself at the same moment) to its senses lost in the 1960's.

I used to think the ACTUAL documents of the 2nd Vatican Council were fine - even edifying - but the implementation by zealot progressives citing the "spirit of Vatican II" afterward was the REAL problem. This viewpoint was shared by such people as Cardinal Ratzinger/ Benedict XVI & Mother Angelica. But having to study them in depth in seminary made me see that they were purposely written to mislead: asserting a valid, orthodox Catholic teaching followed by all kinds of "pastoral applications" that undermined what was previously stated. And this has been the M. O. of the modernists since then. Francis uses this quite skillfully whether it be 'accompaniment' of the divorced/remarried by giving them Holy Communion or "informally blessing" homo couples, to "dialoguing" with abortionists, celebrating non-Christian, pagan, & false religions, etc...

V.R.S.

"...Ratzinger made the following defamatory remark about Trent, blaming it for offending Protestants and thus causing them to cast aspersions on the Catholic doctrine of the Eucharist:
“The Council of Trent concludes its remarks on Corpus Christi with something that offends our ecumenical ears and has doubtless contributed not a little toward discrediting this feast in the opinion of our Protestant brethren. But if we purge its formulation of the passionate tone of the 16th century, we shall be surprised by something great and positive.”
Ratzinger’s harsh criticism contains a rebuke to the Catholic Church for her “passionate” defence of her own Faith, while conciliating Protestants who were, and still are, equally passionate in their condemnation of Catholic devotion to the Blessed Sacrament as nothing other than superstition and idolatry.
The salient feature of Ratzinger’s ecclesiastical career, illustrated in his various official roles – Council peritus, Professor, Archbishop, Cardinal, Prefect and Pope – is that he was always searching for a “new synthesis” of religious expression incorporating insights from sources outside Catholicism. He would then combine the disparate elements to form something new that, whatever else it might be, would, by definition, not be Catholicism."

@Orthocat the Church must work to solve the crisis not by violent revolution , thus Catholic wise counter-revolution. Pope Benedict XVI exemplified in his approach common sense Catholic method to slowly return to Mass of All Ages and increase growth of reverence for Most Holy Sacrament. Judging people (i.e. post conciliar popes) only by their errors is the way and weakness of an emotional obsessive mind influenced by the devil. Simply for the reason Council VII was established by Churchmen preparing a revolution even before pope BXVI was born...

Some of what has happened was never a product of the Council, but there is enough blame to go around, so let's include the Council and stop kidding ourselves.

V.R.S.

A direct product - no but there is always a causal relation. All scandals of Bergoglio in the field of pseudo-ecumenism/interreligious dialogue, liturgy, religious liberty, collegialism (synodalism) and anthropocentrism have their roots in the 1962-65 conciliabulum.

lets all submerge in criticism of the past and let the present destroy the Church. Acheological focus of many trads is an obsession which inhibits unified resistance to return to tradition. Only election of a Catholic pope , which the present usurper is preventing by building the synodal sect , with aid of ill stricken trads suffering from Bergoglian (Stockholm) syndrome, may allow to effectively condemn the VII errors carried over by legitimate conciliar popes... Use your reason and basic logics...

The scandal of Montini's Novus Ordo and false ecumenism/humanism of Wojtyla do not belong to the past. I see it everywhere. Unless they are removed the crisis will stand and deepen.
Take for example - January is on the horizon - the abomination of Days of Talmudism and Islamism in Polish churches. Is it the Bergoglio's rotten fruit? No, it it the real present/presence of wojtylianism.
