Bernard de Lacoste stated that it's -- “absolutely certain that priests faithful to Tradition now benefit from a supplementary jurisdiction which allows them to validly absolve all the faithful who come to confess to them.” Says the SSPX-Rome problem is “doctrinal, not disciplinary,” adding –– “What bothers the Roman authorities today is our attachment to Catholic doctrine & our rejection of the errors of the Second Vatican Council. That is the heart of the problem.”

Bernard de Lacoste, director of the seminary, responds, in the light of Church law, to the main questions raised by the decree of July 2 concerning episcopal consecrations and the Society of Saint Pius X. My dearest brothers, On July 2, the day after the consecrations, Cardinal Fernández published a decree, a severe decree, concerning the consecrations and the Society of Saint Pius X. I would like to say a few words about this decree and answer four questions in particular. First: does what happened on July 1st really constitute a schism? Next: is there really an excommunication for bishops, priests and faithful who approve of these consecrations? Then: are the sacraments celebrated in the Society of Saint Pius X licit?
