Why Holy Mass Is More Joyful Than the Novus Ordo Eucharist

Blessed Contardo Ferrini (1859-1902), as a young man, used to go to Mass every morning.
He was accompanied by one of his younger brothers. One day, after an 80-year-old priest had celebrated Mass, the little boy asked Contardo: "How is it that such an old priest says during Mass: 'ad Deum qui laetificat juventutem meam' ['to God who gives joy to my youth']?
Blessed Contardo, clapping his hand on his little brother's shoulder, replied: "You must know, dear Giovanni, that whoever is in God's grace is always young!
Holy Mass "has its own austerity, no rhythmic, ephemeral music is allowed", while in the Novus Ordo Eucharist "anything goes", comments ITreSentieri.it (29 November).
The blog continues: "On the one hand there is the seriousness of the sacred, on the other the trivialisation of the sacred".
The seriousness of the sacred does not cancel out the profane, but sublimates it: "The trivialisation of the sacred, on the other hand, is overwhelmed by the profane, until it becomes the true …More

Again, more Fake News. Effeminately judging "Substance" by the senses. There is absolutely no "Substantial" difference between the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered validly in any particular Catholic Form. Like silly women we falsely discuss effeminate issues like what we "like and do not like," equating them with Substance.

Luigi Scorsoppi

@brhenry the BVM and your mother (possibly) are women, best not be derogatory about women therefore. Nothing false about discussing the Mass…sadly the Bugnini Mass has a great many deficiencies and open to abuse. And Liturgists will agree that not every Mass offer the same spiritual graces.

Luigi Scorsoppi

The Mass is the source and summit of Catholic worship according to VII document Sacrosanctum Concilium.. In these fair isles of Great Britain, Catholics knew this before VII was conceived. And many died defending the Mass. But now the Church itself has taken up the persecution of the Mass. How awful, what a turn?

brhenry

@Luigi Scorsoppi You prove my point exactly with ridiculous statements like "the Church itself has taken up persecution of the Mass." I assume you mean the 1962 form of the Mass, which is not a "persecution of THE MASS.".This is the "Fake News" to which I refer.

Credo .

O most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, PRESENT IN ALL THE TABERNACLES OF THE WORLD, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners. ~
Suddenly the whole chapel was illuminated by supernatural light, and a cross of light appeared above the altar. Lucia of Fatima. 1929. 🙏🙏🙏

Traditional teaching has been a boon to me. In the NO, I was always trying to get into certain emotional state the the NO seemed to call for. When I could not get there I would get really down on myself. The TLM Is more about intellect and will, not feelings.

Luigi Scorsoppi

@Agatha James very insightful observation and one which I wholly agree. The Novus Ordo Mass and all other new liturgical events predominantly stir an emotional participation. The TLM is devoid of that and appeals to higher faculties.
Emotions change whimsically.

True Agatha! the powers of the soul in action, the three theological virtues: memory, intelligence and will!

The masons worked long and hard to give us the Novus Ordo. It's putrid fruits can still be felt to this day.

How terrible that Church fathers allowed it to take hold and continue to persecute the TLM

The NO is sterile Protestant, and not sacrificial. It is empty, moronic, and homocentric.

Luigi Scorsoppi

Agree with all of that. But the Church teaches that the Novus Ordo consecration is valid and the Body and Blood of Our Lord is confected
