Regarding 'No Salvation outside the Church'.
My understanding: Baptism is the rite of Christian Initiation into the Catholic Church and opens the door to salvation for its members. Therefore baptized protestants at the very minimum, qualify as de-facto Catholics but without full access to the Sacraments and Sanctifying Grace available to baptized Catholics. This unhappy situation is resolved by full union with the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
Furthermore, baptized non catholics seeking admission into the Catholic Church are not required to be baptized again thus confirming the validity of their earlier presentation.
Equal weight is not given to those whose opinions are not protected by the Holy Spirit. ie. Only Popes speaking authoritatively on matters of Faith and Morals along with the Magisterium of the Church, only these are infallible. All others, especially when they contradict the Church, are to be disregarded. Some may have offered opinions prior to the official pronouncements of the Church. Vatican II pronouncements should be disregarded. That leaves the strict interpretation of No Salvation which was pronounced on officially by the Church several times. For the most intellectually valid interpretation read what the Dimond Brothers have to say. They have done the most extensive research and are the most knowledgeable about this topic.
