Coronavirus Mortality in Italy, the Centre of Western Coronavirus Epidemic, Is Grossly Misleading
The coronavirus mortality rate in Italy – indicated as 7.3% (1,809) - is grossly misleading, Breitbart.com (March 16) writes. The reasons:
• 80% of infections are mild or asymptomatic and therefore undiagnosed, while the mortality rate is calculated based on the cases who are known because they showed complications.
• Just 0.2% of the Italian population was tested for the disease. Most infections are unknown, therefore, compared to the effective infections, the mortality rate is much lower.
• Italy has worldwide the second oldest population after Japan. Elderly people are much more vulnerable to the virus.
Even if that were true, thousands of unnecessary deaths is too many.
A reminder. Causes of global deaths so far in 2020:
- HIV/AIDS 352,152
- Cancer 1,720,464
- Malaria 205,478
- Suicide 224,639
- Seasonal flu 101,804
- Abortion 8,903,250
- Traffic acc. 282,788
- Coronavirus 6,513
Sin certainly does spread like a virus, but we are born with it as well. Conversion and repentance is the only cure for all of the woes of this world.
St. Patrick, ora pro nobis!
