The cross at the very top of the Sagrada Familia — the highest point of the entire building — is finally free of scaffolding.
It sits on top of the Tower of Jesus Christ, which reaches 172.5 meters (566 feet).
That makes it the tallest church in the world.
The cross itself is huge: about 17 meters tall and 13.5 meters wide — roughly the height of a five-story building.
But there’s more to it than size.
The outside is covered with white glazed ceramic and glass, so it reflects the light during the day and glows at night. Inside, there will also be an Agnus Dei sculpture, just as Gaudí planned.
Another detail many people don’t know: Gaudí designed the Sagrada Familia so it would not rise higher than Montjuïc. He believed his work should not surpass God’s creation — that’s why the final height stops at 172.5 meters.

The oracle of Dumah (Isaiah 21:11-12) and the neighboring oracles against Jerusalem (Isaiah 22) were interpreted by the ancient fathers and early commentators through a lens of allegory, typology, and spiritual discipline, often focusing on the contrast between the fleeting "morning" of prosperity and the lasting "night" of spiritual judgment.
The Oracle of Dumah was largely seen as a message to Edom (or the "silent" place) urging them—and by extension, all Gentiles—to seek God in a time of gloom.
