An October date for the trial was suspended due to a request from Zanchetta’s defender who asked the judges to wait for the files which never arrived.
Zanchetta is charged with continued homosexual abuse to the detriment of two young men who were his seminarians. He is also accused of inventing divisions in order to collect subsidies.
Arriving in July 2013 in his diocese, Zanchetta, then 49, presented himself as a "friend of the Pope."
