The Red hair discovery also corresponds with a known apocryphal document which states that Christ had hair the colour of "Ripe Filberts" (hazelnuts)
King David, Joseph (who helped Pharaoh in Egypt) and Esau.
During the Spanish Inquisition, all those with red hair were identified as Jewish. In Italy, red hair was associated with Italian Jews
It is possible indeed that Christ may have had Fiery Red Hair since the greatest Catholic Artists have Traditionally preferred to depict Him with that hair colour. POSSIBLY due to the colour RED being linked symbolically with The Holy Fire (another name for the Holy Spirit) Or indeed, the Artists may have learned of the Traditional belief that Christ had Red Hair due to an Apocryphal Account.
The RC Artist Tissot (who knew the great Mystic/Stigmatic Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich), ALSO found himself being given inspired visions of Christ. He was instructed to "Depict me like this." Tissot painted beautiful images of Christ with Red Hair.
A further Biblical Artist who although modern depicted Christ with Red Hair was William Brassey Hole.
