Despite a statement to the contrary by Germany’s Federal Minister of Health just two weeks ago, physician Bianca Witzschel is required to return to prison within the next twelve days. She was sentenced to two years and eight months of imprisonment and has already spent 476 days in pretrial detention. The verdict was upheld by the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) on September 19, 2025. As a result, she now faces an additional 498 days in prison — for standing by her patients during the COVID period and acting according to her best knowledge and conscience.
Bianca Witzschel was convicted for issuing medical certificates (regarding mask exemptions, vaccination incapacity, and PCR nasal swabs), issued as part of her independent therapeutic decisions. In all cases, physical examinations, detailed medical histories, and proper documentation were carried out — circumstances that have led to acquittals in other cases. As a consequence of the prosecution, she has been completely destroyed economically, professionally, and socially: loss of her medical practice, housing, health insurance, bank account, and all patient data and records. She was effectively rendered destitute. In addition, her medical license was revoked, depriving her of her livelihood and professional existence.
This renewed imprisonment comes less than two weeks after U.S. Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr. publicly called on the German federal government to end the persecution of physicians. In response, German Federal Health Minister Nina Warken stated that such persecution does not exist.
Kennedy further calls for the rehabilitation of all physicians and patients prosecuted for mask or vaccination incapacity certificates. The case of Bianca Witzschel exposes the Health Minister’s statement as false. The imprisonment of this physician fundamentally contradicts the constitutionally protected freedom of medical therapy: she was prosecuted and convicted exclusively for individual therapeutic decisions.
Bianca Witzschel is one of more than 1,000 persecuted physicians in Germany, whose patients have likewise been reported and punished by the thousands.
