Francis: Grandparents, Don't Insist That Your Grandchildren Be Baptised!

VaticanNews.va has published Francis' response to Olivia, an Italian grandmother who wrote to him concerned that her granddaughter, now five years old, had not been baptised by her parents.

The short letter, signed "Oliva from Bergamo", was published in the first issue of the magazine Piazza San Pietro, published by St Peter's Basilica.

Oliva writes that her daughter's decision not to baptise her grandson is "a source of great suffering" for her. What will Jesus think of all this?" the woman asked.

Francis answers that "baptism cannot be imposed on parents, who don't want it for their children", but Olivia didn't write that she wanted to "impose baptism".

Based on this distortion of Olivia's intentions, he tells her to "accompany the children, talk to them, but do not insist on baptism".

With many empty words, Francis concludes that "free love is more convincing than many words" and that "love for God sows the seeds of the future, of friendship, of seeking Him".

I myself am a grandparent.
After all these heresies of word and deed, there are still important personalities, both in civil and religious life, who accept jorge bergoglio as a Catholic and as a Pope.
There are some cowardly clerics who claim that francis is indeed a pope because for them it is absurd to argue that benedict's resignation is invalid.
In reality, the only valid reason to accept that Jorge bergoglio is neither a Catholic nor a pope is the persistent heresy of this individual deprived of Divine Grace.
