Laboratory and animal studies suggest that dandelion root extract may have potent anti-cancer properties.
Researchers found that an aqueous extract of dandelion root triggered programmed cell death in over 95% of colon cancer cells within 48 hours, regardless of the cancer cells’ p53 status — a mutation often linked to treatment resistance. In animal models, oral administration of the extract reduced tumor growth by more than 90% without harming healthy tissues.
The study showed that the extract activates multiple pathways of cell death, suggesting a multi-targeted mechanism that may contribute to its selective toxicity. This natural compound appears to stimulate both caspase-dependent and caspase-independent cell-death signals, two of the body’s main systems for eliminating damaged or cancerous cells.
However, while these results are encouraging, it’s crucial to note that all data so far come from preclinical studies in cell cultures and animal models — not from human trials. There is currently no clinical evidence that dandelion root extract can treat or cure cancer in humans.
Researchers emphasize that further studies and carefully controlled clinical trials are needed before any therapeutic recommendations can be made.

Nice recipe..Love Dandelion. I just threw away a bunch because I didn't eat it fast enough. I had a large bunch of them. I wasn't very happy about that because they are hard to come by. Especially non gmo and organic.
Lazarus Peter Kalamation.com Do you eat the flowers as well? Breading them and frying them I heard is really delicious and very healthy as well. The Dandelion is healthy and beneficial from root to flower.
Here are a couple of recipes in case you want to try them. Or make your own recipe.
