The chapel was converted into a parish church after the reformation. Of course, the abbey was dissolved by King Henry VIII in the 1530s as part of his dissolution of the monasteries. The chapel turned church at Titly Abbey in Essex is also notable for its collection of medieval and Tudor brasses - some of which I showed in this video - and for its striking orange exterior. While the chapel and abbey ruins look like a serene piece of the English countryside.
