Blessed Virgin Mary is phenomenal!
Every Catholic knows about the story of the Marriage Feast of Cana in the Gospel of John chapter 2.Here is my reaction to this account… Jesus is the miracle maker and Mary is also a miracle worker.
Mary to Jesus… “They have no wine”. Mary started the miraculous event out of charity and compassion for the newly married couple.
Jesus to Mary… “My hour has not yet come.” Jesus declined the request from his mother.
Mary immediately to the servants… “Do whatever He tells you.”
Mary does not blink twice and she does not hesitate. She ignores his objection and already knows that her son Jesus will fulfill his mother’s wishes without her asking again or begging.
Her confidence is confirmed by the Holy Spirit who has disclosed to her that Jesus himself will not handle the jars or the wine, instead the servants will act as his agents.
Verse 11 tells us the eternal benefit of Mary’s conduct…11 Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs in Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him.
According to St. Augustine Christ's first miracle in the New Testament, was a kind of transubstantiation in changing water into wine.
