Libanon: Israeli Soldiers Mimic Homosexual Acts in Catholic Church
Israeli soldiers desecrated the Maronite Catholic church in Deir Mimas, a Christian village of 4,600 people in southern Lebanon, a video showed on Tuesday.
The town is about three kilometres from the border with Israel.
The soldiers broke into the church at night with torches and imitated the religious images on the walls, before pretending to be a 'bride' and 'groom' at the altar while holding microphones.
Video footage shared on social media shows soldiers shouting and joking.
The soldiers then mimiced homosexual acts on the church floor, piling on top of each other and singing.
The incident took place as elements of the army's 91st Division advanced towards the Litani River in southern Lebanon.
The video has caused outrage throughout Lebanon and among Christians in Israel.
The Israeli army issued a statement saying it condemned the act and would take disciplinary action which will likely never happen.
