Gänswein, during an interview that aired on December 7 with the German Catholic television network, Katholisches Fernsehen (K-TV), noted that the Tridentine Mass, which nourished the faith of the Church for centuries, cannot suddenly become invalid or invaluable now, and questioned why Pope Francis promulgated Traditionis Custodes, when the majority of bishops were satisfied with his predecessor’s motu proprio Summorum Pontificum.
