Nancy Pelosi Received Communion Despite Ban

Former house speaker and abortion activist Nancy Pelosi has defied the ban of Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco, USA, and received Communion: "I took Communion anyway," she told NcrOnline.org (December 10).

In a letter from 2022, Archbishop Cordileone forbade Nancy Pelosi from receiving Communion in his archdiocese because of her abortion activities.

Pelosi describes her de facto excommunication as "his problem, not mine".

And: "My Catholic faith is that Christ is my savior. That has nothing to do with the bishops."
