However, Cardinal Bustillo opposes the reversion of Traditionis Custodes. It would be "dangerous," he said, "to send the message that Francis was wrong and that Leo XIV is here to solve the problem."
He believes Leo XIV "will give a response that is fair and well-calibrated."
On the episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X, he spoke of "a painful rupture for the Church." He lamented that any new break would come little more than a year into a pontificate centered on the words [!] "peace" and "unity."
