Germany, Parishes Run By Priests Become “Exception”

Magdeburg Diocese, Germany, announced that parishes run by priests will become in not too long a time the “exception”, the diocesan magazine Moment writes.

The diocese has already reduced its 180 parishes to 44.

Eight of the new parishes are already now run by lay-teams, without a parish priest.

The diocese has also problems with staffing the parish councils because there are not enough volunteers.

I saw a pantsuit nun do it once, not Germany, but once Catholic Ireland.

It'd be interesting to know how the lay-team consecrates the Host.

They can’t... but, sadly, the “parishioners” probably would not notice or care, since anyone going to those abominations has already lost the faith.
