Francis' Ghostwriter: Francis Has Always Supported Gay Unions
Bergoglio always "recognised" that, "without calling it ‘marriage,’ there are in fact, very close unions between homosexuals,” La Plata Archbishop Victor Manuel Fernandez, Argentina, wrote on Facebook.com (October 21).
Francis’ ghostwriter and an expert in kissing, Fernandez said that Bergoglio always considered "this opinion".
"Even years ago, there was a discussion in the Argentinian Bishops conference where Bergoglio defended this, but lost, as most bishops said that this would be confused with marriage and they preferred not to innovate,” he said.

and if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction and made them an example of what is coming to the ungodly.
What I simply cannot wrap my head around is why so many people want to "bind up" others in the name of Christianity. Time after time, Jesus loosed people from the rigid social and religious constraints of the time. He gave St. Peter the keys to the kingdom "what you loose on earth....". Why don't people want to see other's bonds loosened? Jesus warned those who thought they were righteous that sinners were going to enter heaven before them. I think that's an apt metaphor for what's happening here.
It seems to me that not being rejected by your family (whatever that might mean) and civil union laws are two entirely separate issues. Am I missing something?
I suppose the one way it makes sense together is that Francis is addressing those looking in. At the same time, I don't see how anyone can suggest (and a whole lot of people are trying) he is not also accepting...promoting...encouraging the unions.
