Tomorrow evening, at the conclusion of first Vespers of Septuagesima, the Church will bid farewell to the Alleluia until the Easter Vigil.
How to bury the Alleluia:
1. One can do it at home or at your Church with the community.
2. Write the word “Alleluia” (with or without music) on paper.
3. Place the paper in a sealed box (preferably inside plastic).
4. Place a cross above the site of the burial (with the words “Hic Jacet Alleluia - Here Lies the Alleluia”) to mark the spot of the Alleluia and to bring to mind the absence of the Alleluia during Pre-Lent and Lent.
5. Unearth the Alleluia on Easter morn to mark the Resurrection!
