"Leo XIV Consolidates Francis's Personnel Policy"
On 16 February, author Philip Lawler wrote on CatholicCulture.com that Pope Leo XIV had made further decisions that consolidated the "reforms" introduced by Francis.
Lawler notes that Cardinal Robert Prevost, as Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, inherited the members of that dicastery who had been appointed by Francis.
"If the new pontiff wanted to change the composition of the group and thereby alter the type of clerics chosen to become diocesan bishops, he could have done so last week when he appointed his own members to the dicastery. He didn’t."
Leo XIV did not choose his own team, but instead confirmed thirty of the thirty-one dicastery members chosen by Pope Francis.
The only exception was a religious sister who, at 81, was beyond the age of eligibility.

Those who may have been believing that the problem was Pope Francis and were of a mind that all would be better with a new pope should now understand that the pope was not the problem. Indeed, the pope has never been the problem. The problem is the heresy of Modernism that was given a green light when the Modernists gained control of the Church during the Second Vatican Council. The popes and the bishops are simply following it.
Today, there is not a single Conciliar bishop who is not infected with this heretical scourge. Some are more conservative than others (like Bishop Athanasius Schneider and Bishop Strickland), but unless and until they boldly speak out and condemn the many false and heretical teachings of Vatican II they will remain Modernists and the problem in the Church will persist.
If there is an answer it is only if enough faithful, Catholic, bishops, priests, and laymen abandon the Novus Ordo Mass and Conciliarism and return to the authentic teachings of the Church that were extant prior to the Council. The exclusive priestly organization that professes those teachings today is the FSSPX. And while the Society is growing far more rapidly than the Conciliar religion is collapsing, there are still many more Conciliarist Catholics than faithful Catholics.
Whether a time will ever come when a sufficient number of Catholics return to practicing the true faith before Jesus Christ returns is known only to God.
