Russians were urged to prepare for the “end of the world” in a terrifying warning of a nuclear apocalypse.
The Putin confidant added ominously: "This moment of freedom will probably only accompany us for a very short time."
Vladimir Putin's chief ideologue has urged Russians to prepare for the end of the world – remarks widely interpreted as a thinly veiled reference to the growing danger of a nuclear war between Moscow and its enemies, including Britain.
Alexander Dugin, 64, an ultranationalist philosopher often described as the spiritual architect of the Kremlin worldview, warned of the imminent arrival of eternity and claimed that the moment of free choice could soon disappear forever.
In an apocalyptic online post, Dugin called on all unbaptized Russians to get baptized immediately and urged those who do not attend church to do so without delay in order to prepare for paradise in the afterlife.
“We cannot be sure that eternity will not come soon, and then it will be too late,” he wrote.
"One day eternity will come, and the moment of free choice will disappear."
"Everything will disappear, but the decision to receive holy baptism and the sacraments of the Church will remain."
Although Dugin did not explicitly mention nuclear weapons, his bleak language reflects precisely the way Kremlin-aligned ideologues have long portrayed the prospect of nuclear escalation as an irreversible civilizational rupture, after which only faith, but not politics or freedom of choice, would remain.
His remarks come against the backdrop of Russia's fourth year of war in Ukraine, renewed nuclear signals from Moscow and demonstrative missile launches, including the Oreshnik system, which Russia fired at Ukraine on Friday just 40 miles from NATO territory in Poland.
The 8,000 mph nuclear-capable hypersonic weapon – touted by Russian officials as a strategic deterrent – was detected by Polish air defenses, but no alliance fighter jets were alerted.
Dugin added ominously: "This moment of freedom will probably only accompany us for a very short time."
“Our faith rests on the Redeemer. No one but him can save us. We must go to him. Without delay.”
Russian Orthodox nationalist thinkers have often portrayed nuclear war not simply as destruction, but as a metaphysical dividing line – a point beyond which history, choices, and compromises cease to exist.
Dugin has long held the view that Russia is engaged in a clash of civilizations with the West and that catastrophic sacrifices could be justified if they ensure what he calls Russia's historical mission.
The philosopher's own life was marked by tragedies.
In August 2022, his 29-year-old daughter Darya Dugina, a prominent pro-Kremlin commentator, was killed in a car bomb attack outside Moscow – an attack for which Russian authorities blamed a Ukrainian hit squad.
He was probably the actual target of the attack.
Since her death, Dugin's rhetoric has become increasingly mystical, fatalistic, and apocalyptic.
Critics believe that his latest message aims to psychologically prepare Russian society for extreme escalation by cloaking the prospect of mass destruction in religious and moral language.
One said: “When Dugin speaks of the imminent arrival of eternity, he is not preaching theology – he is translating nuclear war into something the Russians are supposed to accept.”
Whether intended as a prophecy, a warning, or ideological conditioning, the message is clear: Time is running out.

This is why I post about Russia. Many people accused that man of atheism. When clearly he is not.
After proven Patriarch Kirill was never involved with the kgb. There are still some who insist he had some sort of connection with them. But not totally involved. Why do people look for something that is not there? If anything he probably tries to convert them.
When they killed his daughter IT WAS MEANT FOR DUGIN!
Don't care what people believe. They should know what is actually going on. No one seems to do research. The best place for that would be on Russian channels so you KNOW exactly what they say and mean. Though sometimes it can be hard to understand them. People should take the time to learn as I did for a very long time now.

Since I went on that site, my pc is acting up and won't allow me to go on my yahoo email. Takes awhile. I had to click out of it twice before I finally got on. Thanks for letting us know.
