Family Day in Ontario and the importance of family
Today is Family Day in Ontario. Since 2008, it's been a statutory holiday to provide a long weekend for workers in February. Most families will take the time to do recreational things, watch television and pay video games. However, as Catholics it's a great opportunity for parents spend the extra free time directly with their children. Good enough families are the building blocks of society and the common good. The vocation of marriage and family calls parents to live their baptismal promises. They have the responsibility to create a family centred on Christ.
