St. Carlo Acutis's Eucharistic Christmas crib_2025
Introduction:
Every Christmas, I reflect on the scriptural story of Jesus’ life. This year, I created the Christmas crib inspired by the words of St. Carlo Acutis: “The Holy Eucharist is my highway to Heaven.”
Each element of this crib conveys a specific meaning.
As always, I have used simple materials like paper and cardboard to create this crib from scratch.
I thank God for guiding me in creating this Christmas crib to HIS honor, throughout the entire design and creation process.
Christmas theme:
"The Holy Eucharist is my highway to Heaven.” — St. Carlo Acutis.
Description:
The Holy Eucharist with angelic wings symbolizes Heaven.
The red cross symbolizes the sufferings of Christ.
The birth of Christ is a joy for us. Yet the life of Christ reminds us that a life of love is also accompanied by suffering.
The yellow chalice adorned with white stars symbolizes the cup of glorious salvation. The stars represent Christ, born for our salvation. Through this cup, Christ’s sufferings and HIS blood are poured out for us, bringing salvation to the world.
The base of the chalice is fashioned in the form of a ladder, signifying the ascent through trials toward salvation.
The red ladder symbolizes the difficulties and sufferings of this life.
The Eucharistic ladder symbolizes how the Holy Eucharist helps us ascend to our eternal home through the path of suffering. It is the Eucharist that strengthens our faith and hope, guiding us to persevere throughout the journey of life.
The living Bread that came down from Heaven lifts us toward Heaven.
Through this Eucharistic ladder, graces descend from Heaven to earth.
Like Jacob’s ladder, where angels ascend and descend, our prayers and supplications rise upward, while God’s blessings and graces are poured down upon the earth.
The twig with green leaves symbolizes life in Christ. The Holy Eucharist keeps us alive in faith, hope, and love, even amid the difficulties and sufferings of life. It renews our strength and helps us persevere in Christ until we reach our eternal home.
Wish you Merry Christmas and a Blessed New year 2026.
May the faithful love of Jesus Christ live in our heart and our life — forever.
